In diesem Buch „Form und Glanz aus Meissen. Porzellan
der Periode 1814 – 1850“ wird eine wichtige Periode
der Meissener Manufakturgeschichte vorgestellt. Die glanzvolle
Zeit des Meissner Porzellans im 18. Jahrhundert ist in der
Literatur umfangreich behandelt worden. Dagegen wurde die
schwierige, aber erfolgreiche Phase der wirtschaftlichen,
technischen und künstlerischen Erneuerung in der ersten
Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts kaum beachtet. Sie ist
Gegenstand dieser Darstellung.
In vielen Sammlungen befindet sich Porzellan aus dem Anfang
des 19. Jahrhunderts, das aus Mangel an Publikationen nicht
datiert werden kann. Dazu gehört besonders die Serie
der Gefäße mit Reliefdekor, die von Dresdner
Künstlern in jener Zeit kritisiert wurde. Darauf entschloss
man sich in der Manufaktur, dieses Angebot auszusortieren
und die Formen zu vernichten. Dieses Porzellan wird hier
auch vorgestellt.
Die Autorin stellt in diesem Sachbuch zur Geschichte des
Meissener Porzellans erstmals einen Katalog der Formen mit
Beispielen der Porzellanproduktion von 1818 bis 1850 vor
und informiert über die Leistungen der technischen,
chemischen und künstlerischen Abteilungen der Porzellanmanufaktur
Meissen.
In the book 'Shape and luster from Meissen - porcelain
of the period 1814 – 1850' an important period of Meissen
manufactory history is presented. The glittering time of
Meissen porcelain in the 18th century is extensively treated
in the literature and presented in a splendid way. On the
other hand, the difficult but successful phase of economic,
technical and artistic renewal in the first half of the
19th century was hardly considered. This is the subject
of this presentation.
In many collections there is porcelain from the beginning
of the 19th century, which cannot be dated due to lack of
publications. This includes, in particular, the series of
vessels with relief decoration, which was criticized by
Dresden artists at that time. Then it was decided in the
manufactory to sort out this offer and to destroy the forms.

presents for the first time a catalog of forms with examples
of porcelain production from 1818 to 1850 and informs about
the achievements of the technical, chemical and artistic
